Handling

Kathy handles Shelties (exclusively).  She has finished AKC Championships on all colors.  Kathy has put multiple Best in Shows and Best in Specialty Shows on client's dogs.

Kylene-handled dogs are offered a homey enrivonment, lots of individual attention and 2 acres to play in, resulting in great muscle tone. Dogs are housed in our house, not in an outisde kennel building (there aren't any). Any dogs we consider "special needs" animals (i.e. don't play well with others) get plenty of exercise in a separate 1/2 acre paddock.

Because Kathy works by herself for most of the year (except when Arlene comes down for the winter), all dogs must travel with her, whether they are being shown, or not.  Because of this, Kathy keeps the number of dogs she handles down. Except for National and local specialties, Kathy generally shows between 4 to 6 dogs per show. The dogs travel to shows in a van and are transferred to a travel trailer with air conditioning.

Kathy carries insurance for handed Shelties.  References and a rate sheet are available upon request.  As Kathy updates this website, she will start posting photos of finished client's dogs.

As there is a waiting list, Kathy requests that interested parties call her (352-490-9798) rather than inquire via email.  Kathy is on the road so much that she is typically weeks behind on responding to emails.  The best time to catch Kathy is mid-week, as she is showing on most weekends.
